Your Unique Constitution

VATA

Vata Dosha is made of the two elements of air and ether (space) and is described as cold, light, dry, rough, mobile, and spacious. The season of Autumn represents vata for its cool, crisp days. People who have vata dosha in their constitution are generally described as slim, energetic, creative, bubbly and talkative when they are in balance. When out of balance they  may have difficulty making decisions, may misplace their belongings, or have trouble finishing what they started.

PITTA

Pitta Dosha consists of the two elements of fire and water and is described as being hot, light, oily, and sharp. The summer season represents pitta due to its heat and intensity. Those who are described as Pitta dosha are generally described as being muscular, motivated, goal oriented, focused, and intelligent, when in balance. Out of balance Pittas can be hot tempered, irritated, sharp tongued, insensitive, or angry.

KAPHA

Kapha Dosha consists of the elements of water and earth and  is decribed as being heavy, slow, cool, dull, and wet. Spring is the season of Kapha, as it is known for its heaviness and increased moisture and slow feel, as winter transitions into summer. Kapha individuals are generally grounded, strong, big boned, calm, loving, and nurturing. They are kind, loyal, supportive, and patient people when they are in balance. Out of balance they can be overly attached, overweight, sad or lethargic.  

We each have our own unique constitution that is a compilation of 2 or 3 of the doshas, Vata, Pitta or Kapha. By learning your Dosha type, you can discover more about yourself on  physical, mental, spiritual and emotional levels. You can learn about your physical body and the ailments you may be inclined to present, whether they be allergies, osteoporosis, thyroid imbalances or digestive issues.
